The soybean checkoff-funded National Biodiesel Board (NBB) offers biodiesel manufacturers and marketers the opportunity to participate in a program to carry out an effective soy biodiesel quality management system. All soy biodiesel manufacturers are encouraged to contact NBB to participate in the quality-control program, BQ-9000.
Even low-level blends like a 2 percent blend of biodiesel can add 60 percent more lubricity to fuel compared with regular diesel.
Almost one in two soybean farmers use biodiesel in their farming operations. The soybean checkoff is working to make it 10 out of 10. If every farmer and rancher used B2, we could utilize 70 million gallons of pure biodiesel, or the soybean oil from nearly 48 million bushels of soybeans annually.
